Payroll & CIS - your questions

I only pay myself - do I still need payroll?

If your company pays you a salary, yes - it needs to run through PAYE with RTI submissions to HMRC, even for a single director. We handle it for a small fixed fee and make sure your salary/dividend split is tax-efficient.

What is CIS and does it apply to me?

The Construction Industry Scheme requires contractors to deduct tax from subcontractor payments and report it monthly to HMRC. If you work in construction as a contractor or subcontractor, it almost certainly applies - and we manage the whole process.

Can you help subcontractors get CIS refunds?

Yes. Subcontractors often have too much tax deducted under CIS and are due a refund through their Self Assessment. We calculate and claim it as part of your tax return.

Do you handle pension auto-enrolment?

We do - assessing your staff, setting up contributions and filing your declaration of compliance with The Pensions Regulator so you meet your legal duties.
